GoodGrid CPD - For CPD Customers

If you’re a large business customer who consumes more than 160 MWh per year, you can reduce your electricity costs and help keep the power flowing by limiting your use on peak days as part of our GoodGrid CPD program.

If you participate in the GoodGrid CPD program your business can:


Lower your network tariff by minimising electricity use during peak demand periods, 5 short nominated periods between 1 December 2019 and 31 March 2020.  Peak demand periods typically occur weekdays, excluding public holidays, on hot summer afternoons for 4 hours between 3pm and 7pm. 


Contribute to the reliability and safe supply of the electricity network by decreasing power demand on the network at peak periods, when the network is most under strain. 


Reduce or defer the need for us to invest in electricity network upgrades to cater for brief periods of high demand, thereby reducing the overall cost of operating the network.


We encourage you to participate in the program if your business has the flexibility to reduce its electricity use, when requested.  Customers who have participated in this program have saved thousands of dollars in a year.  Your potential savings will depend on the level of your current power use, and your ability to reduce this during the 5 nominated demand periods.

To register for SMS notifications about CPD days, send your national meter identifier (NMI) reference number(s) by SMS to 0418 176 593.

Customers who register their mobile phone number with the GoodGrid CPD program will receive an SMS notification up to 7 days before a potential CPD day (typically the day before), and by 2:00 pm AEDT on the day before a declared CPD day. CPD days also get posted below.
